  Design Layout

You can submit source material with no pre-conceived layout, or you can provide a general idea of layout and style which we will fine-tune and modify at no extra charge. We will create and design a homepage and basic* secondary pages, tailored to your specific needs and specifications using custom designed theme graphic elements for the site's appearance, including navigation, headers and background. All of our web sites are built from scratch based on discussions with the client and no prefabricated templates are used. It's not uncommon, however, for a site's design to be inspired by another site on the internet. If you see a site you like, be sure to take note of what you like or don't like about it for future planning.

During the design process of each site, you will be able to view a "test site" and follow the progress and development of your website from your own computer, and provide feedback to me regarding its layout and design. This process gives you an edge over the competition by enabling you to direct and shape your internet presence so that it meets your specific needs and goals. We will make every attempt to maintain a collaborative working environment, where your opinions and ideas are incorporated into the process at every level.

Items you provide that can be helpful are a copy of your letterhead, your company's logo, if you have a slogan or marketing phrase, catalogs and brochures, and any pictures of equipment or services offered. If you don’t have a slogan, this would be a good time to develop one to enhance the marketability of your product. Also, if you have particular colors associated with your company and any other interesting information about your company - its history, products, patents, affiliations, certifications, etc. - it will allow visitors to gain insight into your company and its products and we will try to use them to personalize your web site.

Should you require assistance in writing your text, we have teamed with a professional copywriter at Success Stream to collect, compile, and craft the words to effectively drive search engines to your site, capture a visitors’ interest, and explain what you have to offer before they click away.

  Uploading to the Web

Your completed website will be uploaded to the web host of your choice. We provide web hosting and domain name registration, through reliable third-party companies and can certainly help you to get set up with a domain name and host should you need it. Most hosts provide other services such as e-mail accounts linked directly to your domain. We can also assist in setting these up for you on servers contracted by WebSight Designs.

  Submissions to the Top Search Engines

We will program your web pages to make them compatible for registration with all major search engines. The ranking of your site will depend heavily on your site's content and the word selection on your home page. We can submit your website to search engines after you have approved the final draft. The Internet search engines are updated approximately every 90 days. Quarterly resubmission can keep your company on top of all major search engines, thereby increasing and maintaining your company's presence on the web. The cost for submission varies depending on the engine. If you are interested in this service, we will discuss your options during the design process.

  Site Maintenance

Upgrades, changes, additional web pages, and general maintenance after final design uploading to your server will be provided as needed. We will discuss your site maintenance needs based on the purpose of your site. Your alternatives could range from specific change requests only on an as-needed basis to regular monthly maintenance.

  Payment Terms

A minimum deposit of 20% of the negotiated cost will be required at startup. A draft site with the content you provide will be on the test site for your viewing within two (2) weeks of receipt and should be completed within 30 days or earlier if your schedule demands. The balance of the cost of the design will be due when you are satisfied with the overall design and prior to uploading onto your server.

  Our Typical Contract

You can view a copy of a typical contract we use when we contract for our basic design package services. A few details will change for different situations, but the basic premise will be the same for all.
